Green Hornet Classic Black Beauty 1/18 Scale Diecast Replica Car by AutoArt

I have been waiting for a 1:18 diecast Black Beauty for many decades. Here it is! Finally.

I had been hoping that the Seth Rogen movie (which didn't stink nearly as much as I had anticipated) might have spawned higher quality merchandise, but no such luck.

At this price point, it would have been nice to have some light-up features, such as the green headlights or interior green LED. Some 1:18 scale figures of the Green Hornet & Kato to pose alongside the car would have also been welcome...especially since this vehicle has some significant drawbacks, not immediately evident from online photos, which might disappoint some collectors. The car's weapons & technologies are NOT retractable. All the gadgets are in "open" mode. This may not matter to you--it did not make a world of difference to me--but I notice few if any online vendors are disclosing this shortcoming.

It gets worse. I might have cheerfully overlooked the non-moveable gadgets, but the interior of this Black Beauty is simply that of an ordinary, vintage Chrysler Imperial. There is no central control console, or radio phone, or any feature remembered from the classic 1966 TV show.

That having been said, the finish on the car is very nice & shiny black. Too bad AutoArt didn't go that extra mile that might have hit this one out of the ballpark.
