Huey, Dewey and Louie Botanist Maintenence Drones Resin Model Kit
[031HM01]
Not being a big fan of resin kits I ordered this kit only because nothing else was really available but I was pleasantly surprised when these little droids arrived at my door. The castings are absolutely fantastic with a near perfect finish needing only minimal cleaning up of hardly noticeable mould lines along the sides and I had only one small pinhole that needed a bit of filler. The "sprue" needing to be razor sawed off the bottom of each droid is really the hardest part of the kit and that is easy enough. The legs need chamfering on the top edge to allow the droids to stand squarely and the "sprue on the front of the arms needs also to be removed and buffed. In all, just 12 parts (3 fully built solid bodies / 3 arms / 6 legs) so can be built in an evening ready to paint. There are no instructions and none are really needed but there are no decals either so you will have to either paint the numbers freehand or run some off on the computer with decal paper or vinyl. The arms are fixed in the folded position so if you wanted arms in various poses (although Huey's arm is at a different angle) you would have to modify these yourself. These are excellent little models and if you added some hydraulic hoses and maybe the lens of an LED they wouldn't disgrace your shelf or diorama.
