Battle Beyond the Stars Nell Spaceship 1/144 Scale Model Kit:

"Battle Beyond the Stars" (1980) was one of the many sci-fi shoot-em-ups to be released in the wake of George Lucas' "Star Wars" (1977). Produced and co-directed (uncredited) by indie master Roger Corman, the film was an unapologetic knock-off of Akira Kurosawa's 1954 action classic "Seven Samurai" and its 1960 American adaptation, "The Magnificent 7," all set in a far-future outer space.

With special effects produced by the then-fledgling James Cameron, BBtS featured a number of creative spaceship designs. Central to the story was the "Nell," a sentient space fighter piloted by Richard "John Boy" Thomas who had earlier gained fame on CBS's "The Waltons." Highly sexual in presentation, the ship resembled either a bare-breasted woman melded with fallopian tubes, or a flying nutsack, depending on your perspective.

This ship was also re-used in the movie Space Raiders!
